I unlocked my Sprint HTC one m8 bootloader and root the phone. I did not yet has S-off. Somehow, I manage to soft brick it 
( i.e. stuck at htc logo screen) after trying to wipe out some data cache.
Without S-Off, I found an instruction online how you can sideload stock rom using TWRP...
