Customize lock screen

I performed the Lollipop upgrade and now very sorry I did. I use Nova launcher and used to be able to customize my lock screen with action buttons I use most and also would get a preview of text messages and notices of phone calls on the lock screen. Now I cannot for the life of me figure out...
