cant root with 4.4.2!!

i just downgraded back to 4.4.2, from 4.4.4, all to get away from lollipop. of course i got stuck in a boot loop and ended up having to do a factory reset and now, towelroot says the phone isn't supported!! i tried towelpieroot but it doesn't do anything but hang up??? what gives, was this a...
